On December 12 a devastating fire took my studio. Many paintings, personal effects and a lifetime of tools went with it. I have worked through the grief and the insurance quagmire and am coming out on the other end. Plans for rebuilding are being sorted out and a bivouac studio has been set up in a spare upstairs bedroom. I have purchased paints and brushes to catch up with work promised to galleries. So... back to work.
From mid-January through the end of February Eleanor and I were artists-in-residence in San Ramon, Costa Rica. We worked with Odysseys International, a Costa Rican-based foundation. These paintings were part of a one-person show I had in Barrio Copan entitled Seis Semanas in Copan. Muy rico! We just hung a new show at the Pine Street Barber Shop in the Oregon Hill neighborhood. It is a Richmond institution and we are happy to be invited. Eleanor is showing a selection from her Women series and I, pieces from Danse Moderne.
Good sales at galleries in December. Now to start to replace inventory and search for more opportunities....
"West Coast Trailer Sailor" Simon just purchased Cayo Costa Messabout for a Christmas present for himself. It arrived in St. Petersburg a few days ago... just in time.
Chesapeake watermen and boat paintings are showing at Put-In Creek Gallery in Mathews, Virginia for the holidays...
Another piece finds a new home. Our show continues through December at Amiro Art & Design, St. Augustine, FL
